Redesign of Lever House Terrace
This is a redesign of the Lever House terrace. The original space felt kind of dull and lifeless, with not much color besides the brick and some trees. Since it's a few stories up and fully open to the weather, it doesn’t have any covered areas, which makes it feel a bit exposed. One section, where there used to be a game area, naturally feels more separate and could be a great spot for someone to take a quiet break alone. My goal with the redesign was to make the terrace feel more cheerful while still keeping it professional. I wanted it to be a space that could work for whatever people need—whether that’s chatting with coworkers, eating lunch, or just relaxing. To accomplish my design concept, I added a mix of seating areas: comfy lounge chairs, standard tables and chairs, and benches spaced out along the edges so people can enjoy the view. Putting seating near the edge also helps connect the terrace to the level below, making it feel more open and social without forcing anything. Overall, I just wanted the space to feel flexible, warm, and more alive.
